Hawaii TEA Party volunteers are pushing back against the Hawaii Department of Education’s Furlough Fridays (because the classroom teacher furloughs are the wrong way to save tax dollars) and the State Legislature’s plan to raise taxes to prevent the furloughs (because it’s the wrong way to manage tax dollars). Ready with solutions and not just complaints, Hawaii TEA Party helped create, sponsor and staff volunteer-run in-school programming for children with no place to go on Furlough Fridays.
